Project Shibchar is another significant project done by Antaheen Foundation under which we supplied Foods and necessary commodities to 200 heavily flood-affected families in Shibchar Upazila, Madaripur district.

Uncountable houses in 4 Unions of Shibchar Upazila adjacent to the Padma river is immersed in water due to the flood caused by heavy rainfall and breakage of the dam. About 25 thousand people with their domestic cattle residing in 12 Unions in Shibchar are waterlogged, causing them to end the day half-starved. These people have realized the uncertainty and unpredictability of what life can bring. The economic condition of thousands of people residing in Shibchar Upazila is already stricken severely because of Covid-19, on top of it, the natural disaster has also attacked them. Misery does not leave them alone. For all these days, they were suffering economically, and now a scarcity of shelter, unavailability of pure water and edible food are added to increase their misery. Creating the intense situation of 'death blow on drought'. 

The 'Project Shibchar' received substantial contributions from Netherlands and Turkey inclusive to Bangladeshi Patrons, made the foundation able to donate BDT 150,000 plus to contribute to the welfare of the society. Our initiative has been to provide the basic food ingredients to the people, a bad containing the following:

• Rice: 5 kg
• Puffed Rice: 2 kg
• Lentils: 1 Kg
• Potato: 2 kg
• Soyabean Oil: 0.5 Littre
• Salt: 0.5 Kg
• Energy Biscuit: 1 packet
• Oral Saline: 5 packets
• Soap: 1 packet
• Matches: 1 box

We cannot afford not to mention two things about our 'Project Shibchar'. First, the tireless work of our Frontline Warriors; Second, the smiles on the faces of the rescued resulted by everyone's contribution: physically, emotionally, and financially.

There is no better feeling than making somebody smile.

এটি অন্তহীন ফাউন্ডেশনের আরেকটি উল্লেখযোগ্য প্রকল্প, যার আওতায় আমরা মাদারীপুর জেলার শিবচর উপজেলায় ২০০ টি তীব্র বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ পরিবারকে খাদ্য ও প্রয়োজনীয় পণ্য সরবরাহ করেছি।

পদ্মার তীরবর্তী শিবচর উপজেলার চার ইউনিয়নের অসংখ্য ঘরবাড়ি ভারী বৃষ্টিপাত ও বাধভাঙ্গার কারণে সৃষ্ট বন‍্যায় তলিয়ে যায়। শিবচরের ১২ টি ইউনিয়নে প্রায় ২৫ হাজার লোক গৃহপালিত গবাদি পশু নিয়ে জলাবদ্ধ যারা অর্ধাহারে দিনযাপন করছে এবং জীবনের অনিশ্চয়তা উপলব্ধি করছে। কোভিড -১৯ এর প্রকোপ এবং প্রাকৃতিক বিপর্যয় -এ দু'য়ের রোষানলে শিবচর উপজেলায় বসবাসরত হাজার হাজার মানুষের অর্থনৈতিক অবস্থা মারাত্মক সঙ্কটে। দুঃখ-দুর্দশা তাদের নিত‍্যসঙ্গী। সমস্ত অর্থনৈতিক ভোগান্তি এবং এখন তাদের অভাব-অনটন বাড়ানোর জন্য বাসস্থান, বিশুদ্ধ পানি এবং ভোজ্য খাবারের অভাব যুক্ত হয়ে তীব্র 'খরার উপর মরার  ঘা' অবস্থার সৃষ্টি করেছে।

"প্রজেক্ট শিবচর" বাংলাদেশী পৃষ্ঠপোষকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত নেদারল্যান্ডস এবং তুরস্কের উল্লেখযোগ্য সমর্থন পেয়েছে, যেটি আমাদের সংগঠনকে সমাজের কল্যাণে অবদান রাখতে প্রায় ১,৫০,০০০ টাকার বেশি অনুদান দিতে সক্ষম করেছে।  আমাদের উ দ্যোগটি হ'ল জনগণকে মৌলিক খাদ্য উপাদান সরবরাহ করা, যা নিম্নে  উল্লেখ করা হলো:

• চাল: ৫ কেজি 
• চিড়া: ২ কেজি
•  মসুর ডাল: ১ কেজি
• আলু: ২ কেজি
• সয়াবিন তেল: ১/২ লিটার
•  লবণ: ১/২ কেজি
• শক্তি বিস্কুট: ১ প্যাকেট
• ওরাল স্যালাইন: ৫টি প্যাকেট
• সাবান: ১ প্যাকেট
• দিয়াশলাই: ১ টি

আমাদের 'প্রকল্প শিবচর' সম্পর্কে দুটি বিষয় উল্লেখ না করলেই নয়।  প্রথমত, আমাদের সম্মুখ যোদ্ধাদের অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম;  দ্বিতীয়ত, প্রত্যেকের নিরলস পরিশ্রম এবং শারীরিক, মানসিক এবং আর্থিক সাহায্যের মাধ্যমে সাহায্যপ্রাপ্তদের মুখে হাসি ফোটাতে পেরেছি।

পরিশেষে, বলতে চাই কারও মুখে হাসি ফোটানোর চেয়ে ভাল অনুভূতি পৃথিবীতে আর কিছু নেই।
